July 15-18, 2018 - Quo Vadis Camp

Do you think that the Lord may be calling you to follow him closely, perhaps as a priest? Come join us at Mount Saint Mary's Seminary in Emmitsburg, Maryland from July 15-18, 2018 for Quo Vadis Camp!  For four days, high school aged young men who are mature and desire to grow in holiness will have an opportunity for Mass, prayer, and Eucharistic adoration, as well time for recreation, sports, and fraternity. The camp is run by priests and seminarians of the Archdiocese of Washington.

Young men who graduate high school in May/June 2018 are eligible to attend. Young men who graduate 8th grade in May/June 2018 and will enter high school this fall are also eligible to attend.

The cost to attend Camp is $115. Scholarships are available if necessary. Bus transportation will be available from Immaculate Heart of Mary (Lexington Park), St. Joseph’s (Largo), and St. Bernadette’s (Silver Spring).

Sunday, September 17, 2017 - Quo Vadis Excursion Day

This will be a great day of fraternity, learning, vocational discernment, and fun. Join us for a kayaking and canoeing excursion to beautiful Southern Maryland.  We will enjoy a fun day of kayaking and sports, have Mass in an historic church, lunch, a talk and a cookout dinner. Limited transportation is available from Washington, D.C. Please email Fr. Mark Ivany (vocations @ adw.org) to register for transportation.

Starts at 9 am at St. Ignatius Chapel, St. Inigoes, MD and concludes at St. Peter Claver Church at 6 pm.

Lunch, dinner, and snacks will be provided. Please bring a water bottle.

Juniors and Seniors in high school who are considering options for college are invited to Saint John Paul II Seminary to experience seminary life firsthand. Meet and talk with our college seminarians and join them for prayer, meals, great talks, and time for sports and recreation. There is no cost for the retreat. It will be a great weekend and we hope you can join us!

Come and see what a day in the life of a seminarian is like! Juniors and seniors in high school are invited to join us for a special day at Saint John Paul II Seminary on Friday, January 26, 2018. High school men will eat three meals, attend class, Mass, and Adoration with seminarians, and have an opportunity to ask questions.  In addition, the attendees will be able to engage with others who may also be considering the seminary as an option for college.

Sunday, April 15, 2018 - Quo Vadis Excursion Day

All high school aged men who are interested in learning more about the priesthood are invited to go on a Quo Vadis hiking trip in Montgomery County! We will hike Sugarloaf Mountain. The day will also include Mass, lunch, Eucharistic adoration, a talk, dinner, and the opportunity to spend time with priests, seminarians, and other high school aged men who are open to the priesthood.

The day starts at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Parish in Barnesville, Maryland, and pick-up will be at 5:15 p.m. from St. Mary’s (18230 Barnesville Rd., Barnesville, MD 20838).

Lunch and dinner will be provided. Please bring a water bottle. The cost to attend is $20.

Bus transportation will be available at no additional cost from Immaculate Heart of Mary (Lexington Park), St. Joseph’s (Largo), and St. Bernadette’s (Silver Spring).

Location: Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception

Time: 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

Join a thousand other 8th graders at the 23rd Annual Vocations Mass specifically for you! After Mass, you will have the opportunity to meet priests and religious women and men in Memorial Hall at the Basilica and learn more about their work and their own vocations.
